Hello everyone. I am from the East Coast of Australia and found this forum when I was searching google for information about Cranbrook. I was quite excited to find a forum here and was hoping to be able to get a more personal view on what it's like to actually live in Cranbrook BC. I am seriously looking at the possibility of moving to BC and living in Cranbrook for a year at least. I presume that this is a very new forum as there hasn't been very much activity yet. So I thought I would get the ball rolling and see if any local Cranbrookians would like to communicate. ehhhhhhhhh From all my google searches your city seems very beautiful and really quite ideal....how do you feel about living in Cranbrook? Is it an adventure? Is it a great place to call HOME? What do u like about growing up here or just living in this part of the world? Convince me that I should pack my bags immediately |

Well for starters, Cranbrook has the most sunny days than any other city or town in BC. There is year round adventure such as PGA Golf courses, it is surrounded by ski resorts, great lakes, lots of camping places. It is the hub of the Kootenays yet still small enough for a close community. International airport, 45 minutes drive from the US Border, lots of employment, and the list goes on!!!!!!!!! You would be welcomed!!!!! |

I am almost convinced. The websites about Cranbrook are very impressive. The situation of your town is spectacular but the thing that will make or break successfully relocating will be the people, their friendliness and how I fit into the community. I intend looking to buy a motorcycle when I arrive and will hopefully find other like minded folk who enjoy exploring the countryside...during summer. Sooooo is there anyone out there in the forum who knows where I can look to purchase a motorcycle.... any local websites where I can watch? I will be looking for a Yamaha or Honda 650 cruiser. Also, are there any motorcyclists out there who have formed some sort of riding group? |

Hi All I am completely SOLD on Cranbrook! I wish I could pack my bags now and hop on a plane - even the horrid temps in Cranbrook today are not frightening me away. We are living in South Africa at the moment, but I am in communications with a migration lawyer in Vancouver to assist with the visas etc but its going to take soooo ling unless we can find employment. Initially I was keen to get to Australia, and one day I was surfing the net and saw an advert for sale for a business, i checked it out and thats how i stumbled on to Cranbrook. Apparently, the photos (which are incredible) of Cranbrook on the net dont give the town any justice - which makes me more excited about getting over!! I have seen pics of our city (Durban, South Africa) and Durban looks good in the pics, but I know Durban does not look like that in the fleash!! Anyhow, I hope I get chat with some locals to get some more info on where to find employment and other topics of interest!! Are there any Motocross or Supercross tracks nearby????? Cheers for now Tracy |

Hello all, Me and my family are from Holland, and we have just received our Visas to become PR of Canada. We all do like the Cranbrook area a lot, great web-site as well.
If you have any info you would like to share with us about the town, good and bad please go ahead.

Am moving back to cranbrook from ontario in the future. Not sure when exactly, but no matter. The important thing is...the move is going to happen. Our oldest child together is 8, he was born in Cranbrook and will be returning when we do.We are looking for new friends and associates to build our new life together. I do look forward to the lifestyle change that comes with living in cranbrook. |
